Today’s Tenma market, on a clean plate.
DAY BY DAY, DISH BY DISH
Rondo — the musical form in which the same theme keeps coming back around. The market comes around, the seasons come around, the plates come around. Our chef, trained across several cuisines, walks Tenma market every morning and builds the day’s dishes from whatever is good, without worrying whether it is Japanese or Western. What is on the board today is part of the fun. Steps from Tenjinbashisuji 6-chome, evenings only.
Daily dishes over a fixed menu. The board is rewritten every day around that morning’s buying.
Low threshold, real technique. We call ourselves a shokudo — a diner — because we want you to drop in often.
The buying decides the menu. From the morning market straight into the kitchen.
